So I go to pick him up at 2:30 and he looks excited to see me but being sure to keep his eyes on Mrs. Harris. She filed them all out to the yard and each child high-fives her to let her know they're on their way out. We walked home and I asked him how it went. He was a little disappointed that he didnt' learn to read on the first day but I assured him that will come with time. He really enjoyed lunch time and recess on the playground and today he'll have PE. He was very excited to wear his new tennis shoes. Tomorrow will be the biggest challenge yet, as I start work and he has to navigate the halls himself.

Kindergarten!!
Can you believe it?!? Jack (which is what he's wanting to be called now...SOOO grown up) started Kindergarten this morning. He was so excited and didn't want mom hanging around taking pictures but I still did anyway!! I wasn't as torn up as I thought I'd be but it was a little sad walking home with just me and Bird. I go and pick him up at 2:30 so we'll get a full report.
With his brand new, super cool Scooby Doo lunch box (thanks, Nana!!)

M-I-crooked letter, crooked letter-I-crooked letter, crooked letter-I-hump back, hump back-I
Well, we made it back from Tupelo and miss it already.
We had such a great time and really enjoyed our visit.
Robbie and Jackson had cousins galore to play with and I know they had fun.
The day after we got back, we went to dinner out and I was appalled that they didn't have sweet tea...guess that's what happens when you're away too long!!
Everywhere in Mississippi has sweet tea!!
School starts on Monday so we're getting ready for that and I'm waist deep in laundry!!
I love these pictures of Robbie and Mamaw

Jackson and Robbie with Mamaw

My pretty girl

The kids had a ball riding scooters in the driveway.
Jackson was so excited to show off his scooter maneauvers.

Who knew my kids loved catfish and hush puppies?! I think they ate the whole basket themselves and cleaned out the fried green beans!!

Jack and Rob loved the stairs so much, I guess since we don't have them.

Packing up and headed east
We're headed east to Mississippi for a week of visiting with family. I'm so excited for all the fun the kids will have but not looking forward to the drive which is about 10-12 hours.
Hardly doubt we'll ever fly there again since the last time we were layed-over in New Orleans for six hours!! I can't wait for everyone to meet Bird and it's hard to believe that some
don't know her yet. And I'm sure Boogie doesn't remember them at all since we were last there when he was just 20 months old. It will be nice to be there, everything just seems to slow
down when you cross that state line. I found some pictures from when we were there last and will post the new ones when we get back.
Me and baby Jack, hard to believe he was ever this little!!
Jackson with my MamawI love this woman so much

Saturday morning donuts
Our kids always look forward to Saturday morning donuts. I'm sure the owner of DV's
Donuts has our order memorized!! Jack has to have something glazed in chocolate
whether it's a donut, a twist or the paper sack, it has to have chocolate on it!!
Robbie loves the donut holes (and DV always sneaks in a few extra for her!!) and eats
them all and mommy and daddy are plain glazed fans.

Robbie's "big girl bed"
After lots of debating, we decided to convert Robbie's crib into a "big girl bed." Basically, we just took the side rail off and put the support on the side but to her it's totally different. We weren't too sure if she was ready or not and I know I wasn't!! I feel like she won't be my baby anymore but she's about to start potty-training and the other night she came wandering out into the living room well after bed time (she somehow managed to climb over the top rail and could've broken her neck!!) She's so proud, and I will deal with this sudden growing up of my baby.
